Divi makes it easy to upload and replace images. You can add them in Image Modules (regular images) or as Background Images for sections and rows.
1. Adding / Editing an Image with the Image Module
This is the most common way to place images on your page.
Open the Divi Builder on your page.
Hover over the section/row where you want the image and click the ➕ grey plus button.
Choose the Image Module.
In the Content tab, click on the image placeholder (or existing image).
The Media Library will open:
To upload a new image: click Upload Files → Select Files, then choose from your computer.
To use an existing image: click on it from the library.
Click Upload an Image.
(Optional) Under Link → Link URL, you can make the image clickable.
Click the green checkmark ✅ Save.
✅ Now your image will appear on the page.
2. Adding / Editing a Background Image for a Section or Row
Background images are used behind content, text, or modules.
Hover over the Section or Row you want to edit.
Click the gear icon ⚙️ to open Section Settings or Row Settings.
Go to the Background tab (the paint bucket icon ?).
You’ll see options for Color, Gradient, Image, Video.
Click the Image icon ?️.
Click the + Add Background Image button.
Choose an image from the Media Library or upload a new one recommend 1920px width, height will differ depending on area but approx 500px).
Adjust options (below the image upload area):
Background Size → “Cover” is usually best.
Background Position → Choose where the image sits (e.g., top center).
Background Repeat → Usually set to “No Repeat.”
Parallax Effect → Makes the image scroll differently for a nice effect (optional).
Save with the green checkmark ✅.
✅ Now your section/row has a background image.
Quick Tips for Images
Best Sizes → Keep images web-friendly (generally under 150KB for speed).
File Types → Use
.jpg
for photos or .webp format for faster load timesAlt Text → Always add a short description (good for accessibility and SEO).
Check on Mobile → Some background images may crop differently on phones.
